The GO Battle of the Paddle

Personal Trainer Brandon Rahe is going to be under-taking a 32.5 mile non-stop journey around Anastasia Island, FL on a Stand-Up Paddleboard….all in the name of the Bailey Family Center for Caring.

The Bailey Family Center for Caring is an inpatient hospice care center for Community Hospice patients. This facility will be adjoining the Flagler Hospital building with a private entrance from the hospital west side parking area.

This is a great project here in the St. Augustine community, and will benefit so many patients and families during such a critical time to offer support and comfort.

GO Personal Training is now trying to do their part and raise funds to further assist this project.

We are now accepting donations and/or pledges for the 32.5 mile journey that Brandon Rahe will tackle.

You can donate a flat amount, or pledge a certain dollar amount for each mile completed along the journey!

You could also join in on sections of the journey by raising pledges of your own and paddling for a few miles!

This will all take place somewhere between July 4th and July 15th, depending on weather conditions!

Contact Brandon Rahe for more details about how to get involved: 904-540-6076 or garvorahe@hotmail.com

Hire the Right Personal Trainer

Certification_header22
Many people want to hire a Personal Trainer, but they’ve heard stories about brutal workouts, lackluster results, or maybe even frequent injuries.  While those are all valid concerns, it’s important to keep in mind that there are many personal trainers out in the world.  Unfortunately, most of the trainers that are out there aren’t properly qualified to take good care of your body.

So when looking for a personal trainer, definitely keep a few things in mind:

Make sure they are educated in the field of Exercise or Health Science of some type.  Intense time should have been put in on the subjects of Anatomy, Physiology, Kinetics, Biomechanics, Nutrition, Fitness Assessment, and Proper Exercise Techniques.

Check for proper certification credentials:  There are many certification organizations that are NOT accredited and are just after money in exchange for a certificate.  Do your research for quality control on the type of certification.  Also, make sure the certification the trainer holds is current through continuing education.  Many trainers were certified 10 years ago and haven’t done a workshop since!

The trainer should have good interpersonal skills:  You’ll be spending alot of time with your new trainer, and you need to make sure you enjoy that person as an individual.  Watch them while they are working out with others and see if they are getting along and how they are interacting.  If you like what you see, that is a good start.

There are more things that you can take into consideration before committing to a personal trainer, more than I’ll go into here in this post.  The main key is, do your homework, and if you need guidance further than this post offers, feel free to contact me!  Brandon Rahe 904-540-6076  or garvorahe@hotmail.com

Stay disciplined with your plan to reach your goals!
